Concept of Entity
An Entity is an organisation and it denotes a legal entity that has its own existence and with which it is possible to conduct business.
An Entity is created during the process of Aura installation. On installation the Entity details will be displayed at Admin > Entities > Maintain. The Bank or Financial Institution (FI) can view / edit the Entity details.
One installation of Aura can have multiple Entities. For example, if the installation is at ABC, ABC UK, ABC US, ABC India will be the multiple Entities. This is done specifically only in certain implementations, if the Bank / FI wants to set up multiple business entities in Aura.
One Entity can have multiple branches. For example, if ABC UK is the legal entity, then London, Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester etc will be maintained as Branches for the Entity. Bank can add / view / maintain branches as per their needs.
Data segregation across entities
All business data related to an Entity is strictly segregated and can be viewed only by users having access to that Entity. Bank has an option to choose before Aura installation if CRM data can be shared across entities or not.
Only User Data is shared across Entities – in the sense, a user record created in an entity can be viewed in other Entities as well. However, the user herself can access data for an Entity only if she has been mapped to that Entity.
Close of Business (COB) operations in Aura are executed per Entity.
